SOUND METHODOLOGY
Our investigation methodology includes the following
best practice elements:
- We clearly identify the allegations and clarify
our terms of reference with the client.
- We develop an investigation plan before commencing.
- We review all relevant organisational policies,
procedures and codes of conduct and professional standards.
- We collect, collate and analyse relevant documentary
evidence and other forms of proof.
- We Interview the parties individually to hear their
versions of events and put any allegations to respondents.
We do not conduct formal hearings, unless this is
part of the client organisations’ statutory
requirements.
- We provide a verbatim transcript or record of interview
to interviewees for their verification.
- We make further inquiries to verify information
put forward as fact.
- We obtain and evaluate advice from appropriately
qualified experts on technical matters.
- We give in-depth consideration to all information
obtained.
- We write a detailed factual investigation report
making findings, as to whether, on the balance of
probabilities, the allegations are made out to the
required standard of proof. If required, we also provide
recommendations on relevant management and systemic
issues. We also advise the client in the event we
find that the allegations are false, vexatious or
misconceived.
- All reports undergo a thorough quality assurance
review prior to their release.
- We provide a thorough debrief to the client on completion.
